We were delighted and overwhelmed to win the national 'Excellence in Musical Theatre 2022' MDE award in London in March for our professional production of 'Electric Dreams' - our Shakespeare musical staged at Norton Priory outdoor theatre last summer and Liverpool Theatre Festival. We feel honoured to be winners of this prestigious award two years running.
Myleene Klass presented the award to us and the judges said "A Place for Us Theatre Company supports the performing and creative arts industry pipeline and boosts mental health and talent development".
To win the Excellence in Musical Theatre Award gives a real sense of pride and achievement to our staff, team and whole company, including our artistic partners Norton Priory, Riverside College Theatre Makeup & Hair Depts, CULTIVATE and all our extended community. The glow spreads to all our magic weavers and beyond!
It is wonderful to be acknowledged for our passion, commitment and dedication to the arts and Musical Theatre.

Community Shows/Events
During June 2020 we ran an online acting course with a number of our company members. The 5 session course, ran by our fab expert drama tutor and actor Chris Brett and our artistic director, Kate Allerston, entitled ‘Making a Drama out of a Crisis’. The young actors worked on creating, writing and performing their own characters in response to Lockdown and the Covid situation. Some of our performers recorded their monologues. This is the fabulous result!
Show & Events @ Norton Priory
It was amazing to create live professional theatre in December 2020 at the stunning Norton Priory atrium within a socially distanced and Covid-safe environment. A magical event featuring the fabulous Camira Wind Trio in a dramatic retelling of Dickens' 'A Christmas Carol', exactly 177 years since it was first published in its entirety.
